La comida como espacio de encuentro.
Recetario Colaborativo emerged within Villaverde Experimenta (VE), the first edition of Experimenta Distrito, a citizen lab coordinated by Medialab-Prado that invites citizens to prototype ideas that could improve quality of life in their neighbourhoods. Project promoters submit a proposal, project members hack it, and together they create something different.
Hoping to come up with a mestizo recipy book of Madrid’s southern district of Villaverde, Recetario Colaborativo explored the area during November and December 2016. Through individual meetings, and by wandering the streets with our precarious food trolley, we shared our recipes and asked neighbours to contribute with theirs. The outcome was a fanzine and an itinerant recipe book that gathers “recipes to eat” and “recipes to get together”. The first section focuses on ingredients, stories, and cooking tips, while the second collects, in a recipe-like mode, strategies to get together in both public and private spaces.
You can access the diary of the project here (only in Spanish).
